In August 2025, Bedford County opened six pickleball courts and one basketball court at the County Rec Field complex (620 Bedford Ave., Bedford). The project was built on the site of former tennis courts on the property.

Below are some rules and guidelines:

• Courts are open on a first-come, first-served basis.

• Limit play to one game if others are waiting.

• Courts are designated for pickleball use only.

• Food, drinks, or glass containers are not allowed on courts.

• Pets and other animals are not allowed on courts.

• Profanity, abusive language, & inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated.

• Paid instruction is prohibited without permission.

• Children accompanying players must be properly supervised at all times.

• Non-marking athletic shoes are required at all times.

• Exit the court only between points to avoid disrupting play.
